Jan Mucklestone
Jan is the owner/illustrator of Illustration Design, a business that primarily serves publishers, manufacturers and the fashion industry. Jan's clients appreciate her exceptional talent as an illustrator as well as her extensive background in the fashion industry, from design to retail.
A native of Seattle, Washington, Jan remained in the Pacific Northwest to study art and fashion at the Bassist Institute in Portland, Oregon. Upon graduating, Jan moved to Los Angeles to work with the legendary Costume Designer, Edith Head, at Universal Studios - replacing Bob Mackie as her sketch artist.
Jan's parents, brothers, and sister, longtime Seattle residents, eventually encouraged her to return home, where she opened Illustration Design as a full time business and began raising her family.
In the fall of 1991, Jan and her daughters moved to the San Francisco Bay Area where she continued to expand Illustration Design. She developed a thriving business in fashion illustration and accepted private commission portraiture. Jan's clients have included Levi Strauss, Koret of California, the 1996 Olympic Committee in Atlanta, Farmer's Bank of Thailand, Malco Modes, and Byer of California. In addition to advertising and marketing work, Jan has illustrated two books: Mastering your Professional Image by Diane Parente, and Chores for Children, a Positive Approach by Jeffrey E. Foster.
